Texas Credit Union Outsourcing ATMs
A Texas credit union was able to turn a dilemma regarding out-dated ATM units into a program that benefits all parties involved.
The River City Federal Credit Union, based in Bexar County, TX was faced with a hard deadline to update their fleet of in-branch and off-branch ATMs and ensure that every unit was ADA-compliant. River City Federal Credit Union’s President and CEO, Kim L. Heinze, found a cost effective solution by outsourcing their ATM fleet to Absolute ATM Services, Inc.
ATM Outsourcing Helping River City FCU
The ATM outsourcing initiative helped address many of River City’s needs.
In September 2011, the Texas credit union sold their out-of-date ATMs to Absolute, thereby giving the ATM services company ownership and maintenance responsibility for the credit union’s fleet of ATMs.
Absolute assessed which of units could be updated to meet ADA requirements, and made modifications as needed. Those that could not be updated were replaced by new models that complied with ADA standards.
Heinze shared with CUInsight, “Outsourcing our ATMs to Absolute ATM has been a great experience; it was the right decision for us. It has proven to be cost effective and best of all, our staff can focus on member services instead of babysitting ATMs. We don’t have to worry about the next compliance issue or fixing our ATMs if they go down because we know Absolute is going to take care of it.”
The solution appears to be a win-win for River City Federal Credit Union, its members and for Absolute.
Texas Credit Union Continues to Focus on Members
Without being plagued by the ever-evolving regulations and requirements of maintaining ATM units, the Texas credit union can continue to utilize its staff and support associates toward helping their members.
It is this ability to hit the ground running with innovative approaches and solutions that make community-oriented credit unions a leading servicer of financial products.
